In this live podcast interview librarian Gigi Howard will interview Newberry Award Winner and New York Times bestselling author, Meg Medina. Meg Medina’s books are beloved by people of all ages around the world, and Richmond Virginia is lucky enough that she calls it home.

Meg has picked The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhillas a favorite book hers, and she and Gigi will be diving into the joy of this story, and the ways that it inspires Meg in her reading journey. Meg Medina served as the 2023-2024 National Ambassador of Young People’s Literature. She is an award-winning and New York Times best-selling author who writes picture books, as well as middle grade and young adult fiction. Her works have been called “heartbreaking,” “lyrical” and “must haves for every collection.”

Her newest novelGraciela in the Abyss, a middle grade novel that takes the reader beneath the waves in an extraordinary foray into fantasy.
